VIPRE Android Security Permissions

VIPRE Android Security requires some permissions on your Android mobile device to ensure you're fully protected. 


Permission Required Reason
Internet Access This permission is required to determine the security status of the apps it scans, of the webpages you are visiting, and also to receive commands from your VIPRE Security Central account, when using the Anti-Theft features.
Read phone state and identity This permission is requested to detect if the device is connected to the internet, and to extract certain device info needed to create a unique ID when communicating to VIPRE Security Central.
Read and write browser bookmarks This permission is required for the Web Protection module to delete malicious sites from your browsing history.
Read log data This permission is required for VIPRE Android Security to detect traces of threat activities from the Android logs.
Location This permission is required to locate the device through the VIPRE Security Center, for use when the device is lost or stolen.
Camera This permission is required for the Snap Photo on Failed Unlock feature, for use when the device is stolen.
Storage This permission is required to allow the Malware Scanner to scan the SD card.
