Product release information for VIPRE Email Security Cloud released in December 2019.
What's New
The list of new features below represents several months of innovation by the Email Cloud team. Because we release features as they become available, some of these have been available in the console for some time.
- New Bundling Option: Advanced Threat Protection - Delivers the latest machine learning behavioral security technology and protects against costly breaches by combining our core VIPRE Email Security Cloud solution with Phishing Protection and Attachment Sandboxing
- Two-Factor Authentication – Includes an added layer of security by requiring users to log in with a code provided via SMS message or third-party security app (TOTP) of your choice (e.g., Google Authenticator) as well as a password
- LDAP Next Generation Mailbox Directory Sync System – Allows organizations to directly sync the user accounts in Email Cloud with their company directory, ensuring that the two directories stay in sync; improves on earlier iterations of this technology to provide more accurate and more automated syncing
- Global Policy Management – Enables bulk policy editing for partners and resellers by allowing multiple customer policies to update simultaneously
- Bulk Delivery Service – Makes it easier for users to redeliver and release messages from their Archive in large batches
- Authentication Against Outbound Servers – Allows the administrator to restrict outbound access via Email Cloud servers to specified user accounts, helping to reduce spam generated from compromised accounts
- Test Policy – Validates the accuracy of custom policies by allowing admins to execute a "test run" against a batch of existing emails
- Blocked IP/Email Address Alerts – Notifies users when IP/Email addresses are blocked and recommends the appropriate actions to take in the Portal

VIPRE Email Security Attachment Sandboxing
As our newest add-on product, Attachment Sandboxing, is a powerful yet easy to use solution that provides the best in machine learning-driven email attachment protection against malicious and zero-day threats.
VIPRE Email Security Archiving
- End-user Access – Enables access to archived mail allowing users to take full advantage of our powerful advanced search capabilities
- Switch Between Admin User Roles – Enables smaller businesses where the same person performs multiple compliance functions, improving overall usability
- Archive Retention Period Configuration – Complies with regional compliance requirements by enabling modification of the Archive retention period
VIPRE Email Security Encryption
- Email Recall - Give users the ability to recall emails sent via Encryption
- Customer Branding - Enables organizations to apply customized branding to the Encrypted emails they send
- Improved Email Notification Design - Modernizes and refreshes the look and feel of the notifications sent by Encryption
Other features include a newly improved user login experience with federated identities NemID/BankID for all customers in the Nordic region.
VIPRE Email Security Integration with ConnectWise Manage
Partners using ConnectWise Manage as part of their PSA/RMM solution now have direct integration, which provides onboarding, company mapping, and usage metering so that client billing can be fully automatic.
VIPRE Email Security Image Analyzer*
Image Analyzer now includes artificial intelligence (AI) to provide better statistics and a reduction in false positives on emails that contain images.
*This feature is currently only available in the United Kingdom.
Special Instructions
Two-Factor Authentication - To enable this feature, navigate to Access Control under the Admin tab. For more information, click HELP in the top right corner of the page.
Improved LDAP Sync - We will be enabling this feature on an account by account basis over the coming weeks and months. When enabled for your account, you will see new options in the Service Settings > LDAP screen. If you would like to take advantage of this feature sooner, please contact your Email Security Support team to request this to be enabled for your account.
System Requirements
VIPRE Attachment Sandboxing, Phishing Protection, Archiving, and Encryption are additional services and all require VIPRE Email Security Cloud as a prerequisite. Please contact a VIPRE sales representative for more information about enabling these additional email services today.
