In all cases, we have tried to provide a workaround for you to consider, in case you should experience the issue.

If you have questions about a specific issue, please provide the issue ID (e.g. VIPREMAC-123) when contacting our Technical Support team.

Active Protection is blinking red and VIPRE displays "At Risk" status
or A "System Extension Blocked" message is displayed

VIPREMAC-601 - Problem turning on Active Protection if system software from "ThreatTrack Security, Inc." is not allowed in macOS Security & Privacy settings.

Due to how macOS High Sierra (and later) protects against accidental install of software from unknown developers, the system could prevent installation of VIPRE's Active Protection, which stops it from working.

  • Symptom: When you first run VIPRE, you may see one of the following issues
    • A "System Extension Blocked" message is displayed
    • Active Protection is blinking red and VIPRE's status is "AT RISK"
