What is Encrypt.team?

Encrypt.team is an app for desktop and mobile use that helps to keep you safe online. We designed our app to protect you from security threats when you're using public Wi-Fi. Untrusted networks — like the ones you'll find at coffee shops, airports, hotels, and conferences — can be a hotbed of activity for malicious actors.

What exactly does Encrypt.team do?

Our app encrypts the connection between your device and our trusted servers in the cloud. Since Encrypt.team secures your data before it leaves your device, it looks unreadable even if someone nearby intercepts it.

Are there any tradeoffs to using a VPN service?

When you secure your connection with a VPN, you’re sending all of your data through the VPN network. If your data is already encrypted, like for example your bank, then it looks encrypted to your VPN provider, too. However, if your data isn’t encrypted, it’s your VPN’s job to encrypt it for you. Encryption begins your computer or mobile device and your VPN sends it to trusted servers in the Cloud. Those servers then decrypt your data so that they can send it onward to its original destination. That makes it just as important to research your VPN provider so you can be sure you trust them.

Will VIPRE Encrypt.team slow down my connection?

There are many variables that determine your VPN’s performance: encryption level, distance, and connection strength to name a few.
