The latest version of VIPRE Privacy Shield improves our Dark Web scanner with:

  • a new search engine that reports more data breach information on your email addresses or passwords
  • a redesigned user interface
  • the ability for users on our free trial to test the Dark Web scanner feature

Fixed in this Release

  • IDSHIELD-170: Ad Blocker switch in Settings is always turned off when starting VIPRE Privacy Shield
  • IDSHIELD-185: When Privacy Shield indicates there is an update found, clicking Yes does nothing rather than executing the software update. As a result, we have temporarily disabled the Update notification window.


Known Issues

Ticket Description
IDSHIELD-103 When attempting to log in to a website, captchas may fail repeatedly when the browser add-on is enabled for Firefox, Chrome, or Edge preventing the user from logging in.

Workaround: Stop blocking cookie tracking on the particular website or temporarily disable the browser extension

To stop blocking cookie tracking on a particular website:
  1. While on the website you're attempting to log in to with a captcha, open the VIPRE Privacy Shield Tracking blocker extension in your browser
  2. On the Home tab, switch "Block tracking attempts for this website" to No
  3. Remember to re-enable the tracking blocker for this website when you are done

To temporarily disable the Tracking Blocker for all websites:

  1. Open VIPRE Privacy Shield
  2. Select the Tracking Blocker tab and switch Tracking Blocker to Disabled
  3. Remember to re-enable the tracking blocker when you are done
