Product release information for VIPRE Endpoint Server Agent version 11.0.7637 Hotfix released on October 15, 2020.
Important Note
This hotfix is for NEW INSTALLATIONS only. If you have existing agents on version 11 then you will have already received the fix for this issue as part of Definition Update 87462.
What's New
Older versions of the Transport Layer Security protocol (TLS 1.0 & TLS 1.1) are not as secure as they once were. As a result, VIPRE is phasing out support on both email and web application connections using anything older than TLS 1.2.
This release includes security and privacy improvements for our Web Filtering and our Anti-Phishing features by switching support to TLS 1.2.
Special Instructions
Windows 7 and Windows 8 do have not TLS 1.2 enabled by default so our Web Filtering (URL Scan) and Anti-Phishing (Email Protection) features will stop working until TLS 1.2 is enabled. Please see Microsoft's website for directions on how to enable TLS 1.2: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/core/plan-design/security/enable-tls-1-2-client.
