What's New
VIPRE has updated its browser extensions to use Manifest V3, which is the latest standard. Manifest V3 is the latest version of the chromium-based manifest file specification, and it represents a significant update to how these browser extensions work. It was introduced to improve security, privacy, and performance.
This VIPRE Browser Extension update includes the following system requirement updates:
- Google Chrome: Version 95 or later (previously 79 or later)
- Microsoft Edge: Version 95 or later (previously 79 or later)
Mozilla Firefox remains unchanged, still requiring version 65 or later.
VIPRE Recommends
Keeping all software in your environment as up-to-date as possible is critical. New software releases often fix issues with older product versions that, unless addressed, could leave you vulnerable. As such, VIPRE recommends updating to the most recent version as soon as possible.

Fixed in this Release
The following items have been fixed in the browser extensions for Google Chome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox:
- HTTPS Malicious Content Blocking Fix: We resolved an issue where enabling 'HTTPS Malicious Content Blocking' caused excessive redirect errors, preventing access to specific websites.
