VIPRE comes with default application exceptions. You can add new application exceptions, edit exceptions, and delete user-added exceptions. These application exceptions (rules) tell the Firewall what action to take for network activity to/from the application. This is typically useful for applications that use an automatic update feature.
To add, edit, or delete an application exception:
- Navigate to the Apps tab under Manage Rules (Manage>Firewall>Firewall Protection).
- To add a new application exception, click Add App Rule.
To edit an existing application exception, adjust the drop-down for an application.
To delete an existing application exception, select the row of a user-added rule in the table and click Delete.Note: You can only delete user-added exceptions.
- Select an action (Allow, Allow with Notify, Block, Block with Notify, or Prompt) for the following conditions:
-
