Written By Marissa Fegan (Super Administrator)

Updated at July 29th, 2024

Product release information for Privacy Shield version 3.7.5, released on 2024 July 29.

What's New

The release of VIPRE Privacy Shield includes updated web browser extensions for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, which are available in the respective browser's store. We've also adjusted data scans from web browsers to include login credentials, personal information, and browsing tracks to support the updated browsers.

VIPRE Recommends

It's critical to keep all software in your environment as up-to-date as possible. New software releases often fix issues with older product versions that, unless addressed, could leave you vulnerable. As such, VIPRE recommends updating to the most recent version as soon as possible.

You can check the current status of older product versions on the VIPRE Product Lifecycle Matrix to learn when support for specific product versions may end.

When attempting to log in to a website, captchas may fail repeatedly when the browser add-on is enabled for Firefox, Chrome, or Edge preventing the user from logging in.

Workaround: Stop blocking cookie tracking on the particular website or temporarily disable the browser extension

To stop blocking cookie tracking on a particular website:

  1. While on the website you're attempting to log in to with a captcha, open the VIPRE Privacy Shield Tracking blocker extension in your browser
  2. On the Home tab, switch "Block tracking attempts for this website" to No
  3. Remember to re-enable the tracking blocker for this website when you are done

To temporarily disable the Tracking Blocker for all websites:

  1. Open VIPRE Privacy Shield
  2. Select the Tracking Blocker tab and switch Tracking Blocker to Disabled
  3. Remember to re-enable the tracking blocker when you are done

Warning

Disabling or turning off the Tracking Blocker for any website allows the site to potentially track your online activity and gather personal information.
