If you use a proxy to connect to the Internet, enter that information in Updates. Typically, home users do not require a proxy server. If you think you may need to use a proxy and do not know how to acquire the necessary information, you can consult your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or Network Administrator to obtain proxy information.

To set up a proxy server:

  1. Click Manage, then Updates.
  2. Scroll down to Proxy for Updates.
  3. Check Use a Proxy.
  4. Enter the Proxy Server Information:
    • Address: Enter the IP Address (e.g. 10.3.120.3) or the server name (i.e. OurServer) of a server that you are connected to.
    • Port: Enter the port number (e.g. 8080) of the server that is used to connect to the Internet. This goes in the box on the right.
  5. If the server to which you are connecting for Internet access requires login credentials, select the Password .
  6. Enter the information provided by your ISP or Network Administrator.
  7. Once your proxy settings are enabled, should establish an Internet connection.
