Here you can adjust additional settings related to how scheduled scans behave, including how to handle missed scans and battery-only scans.
Catch-up scans for missed Quick Scans
If this setting is enabled, VIPRE will automatically run any scheduled Quick Scan that it was unable to perform at the next available opportunity.
For example, if your Mac was powered off during a scheduled Quick Scan was supposed to happen, VIPRE will start the Quick Scan when your Mac is powered back on. If this option is not selected, VIPRE will simply wait until the next scheduled period.
To enable catch up scans
- Click Preferences > Schedules
- Click Options
- Select Perform a catch up scan if a scheduled quick scan was missed
Scheduled scans on battery power
If this setting is enabled, VIPRE will kick-off scheduled scans even if your Mac is not plugged in. This only applies to Macs running on battery power.
Running scans – or any intensive activity – for an extended period may consume significant battery power, so scans are disabled by default.
To enable scheduled scans while on battery power
- Click Preferences > Schedules
- Click Options
- Select Perform scheduled scans while on battery power
