If you have lost the password to access your encrypted device, you may recover (reset) the password with the assistance of your Administrator.

To recover a password for an encrypted device:

  1. Insert the device; the Unlock Medium window displays.
  2. Click the Recover Password button.

Or

  1. In Windows Explorer, right-click the device and select Recover Password.
  2. You will be provided with an Encrypted Medium ID and Security Code. Provide this information to your administrator.
  3. Your administrator will need to then provide a passphrase.
  4. Key in or copy/paste the passphrase in the Enter passphrase received from administrator field.
  5. Enter a new password in the New Password field, and the same password in the Confirm Password field.
  6. Click OK.

Note: You may also recover passwords from the Manage Device screen. See Managing Encrypted Device Passwords.
