VIPRE Security for Business (aka the VIPRE Cloud Agent) extends enterprise-grade protection to your Android™ devices and Chromebooks, bridging the gap between traditional workstations and the modern, mobile workforce. Designed specifically for the unique architecture of these platforms, the agent provides a lightweight yet powerful defense against over 20,000 known Android-based threats, malicious URLs, and sophisticated phishing attempts. Managed directly from the intuitive VIPRE Cloud console, it offers administrators a centralized view to enforce security policies. By combining real-time scanning with advanced web protection and app anomaly detection, VIPRE ensures that your data remains secure without compromising the performance or productivity of your mobile users.

The following instructions assume you are logged in to your subscribed VIPRE Cloud product's web console with administrator credentials:

VIPRE Recommends

While you may not want every available policy setting enabled on your endpoints, the default policy settings are our recommended minimal configuration. We strongly suggest reviewing these at a minimum to ensure they are tailored to your organization's specific security needs.

To review the default policy:

  3. Find the Default Android Enterprise for your desired device type (laptops, mobile, tablets), then click View Policy to review the default settings

If the default policy does not meet your organization's needs, you can opt to create a custom policy.

To create a custom policy:

  2. You'll notice a light blue menu listing different operating systems; ensure you select Android
  3. In the top right corner, click the Add Policy button
  4. Name your policy as desired, and click Next
  5. You'll notice the light blue menu listing the operating systems has been replaced with policy setting categories; click on each category to see the settings within and configure your policy as desired

Install the VIPRE Cloud Agent

The following steps require you to have access to the individual device(s) where you are attempting to install the VIPRE Cloud Agent and to be logged in to your VIPRE Cloud web console.

  1. From within the VIPRE Cloud web console, navigate to SETUP > Deploy Agents and scroll down to the Android section
  2. Select Download Installer to be linked directly to Google Play
    • If you are on the device you are attempting to install the Agent on, you will be prompted to install the application called VIPRE Security for Business
    • If you are coordinating with someone else who has possession of the device you are attempting to install the Agent on, you can send them the link to Google Play, or have them search for VIPRE Security for Business and install the application

Enroll the Device in VIPRE Cloud

Once the VIPRE Security Agent app is installed on your device, launch the app.

  • If you are on the device you are attempting to install the Agent on, scan the QR code shown in the VIPRE Cloud web console to link it to your VIPRE site
  • If you are coordinating with someone else who has possession of the device you are attempting to install the Agent on, click (or enter this code instead) underneath the QR code to reveal a 7-digit PIN, which you can then provide to them

Once that is done, just follow the on-screen prompts to complete setup.
