The Competitive Antivirus Removal Tool (CART) is a tool in the VIPRE Agent installer that allows you to remove any antivirus software already present on the Endpoint to ensure that no incompatibilities occur. However, its scope goes a bit beyond antivirus—other solutions, such as network monitoring, can also conflict.
The policy controls whether or not the Competitive Antivirus Removal Tool run:
- Navigate to MANAGE > Policies > Agent > Incompatible Software
Built into the policy is a link saying Show list of incompatible software - click on that link to see a popup that lists all of the products that the Competitive Antivirus Removal Tool can remove.
Competitive Antivirus Removal Tool is driven by definitions - basically instructions on how a specific product can be removed. These definitions can be updated outside of the agent itself automatically.
