What's New

Update

2024 April 10: A second custom build agent is scheduled to be released later this month. Check back here for updates.

 

We have received a new custom build of the VIPRE Cloud Agent with the following updates:

  • We have made a number of improvements to the VIPRE Cloud Agent to harden its operation, ensure that unexpected network events don’t cause the agent to fail to load, as well as Signed Agents improvements so that end users are no longer being prompted for missing signatures
  • The VIPRE Cloud Agent now supports Device Control and Policy Management
  • Remote Shell now supports copy-and-paste
  • Various additional performance improvements

VIPRE Recommends

Keeping all software in your environment as up-to-date as possible is critical. New software releases often fix issues with older product versions that, unless addressed, could leave you vulnerable. As such, VIPRE recommends updating to the most recent version as soon as possible.

Special Instructions

Custom Build Codes

With VIPRE-provided custom build codes, you can access VIPRE Agent releases that are not generally available. We may make these builds available to fix specific customer issues or for early access to builds planned for GA release but not yet released. 

Custom agent builds may either be released under General Availability (GA), or the fixes within them could be incorporated into another GA release. Once this happens, the custom build will no longer be relevant. Depending on the policy's Auto-approve and Auto-deploy settings, the new GA release may automatically be deployed to your endpoints. Refer to Related Articles for details on managing your agent software updates.

  • VPBAGENT-41841: When updating a patch, an exploitable DLL could have been abused to escalate privileges
  • VPBAGENT-41620: A combination of Domain Exclusions was causing Malicious URL Blocking for HTTPS to produce two VIPRE URL Inspectors per lookup but was not automatically closing them.
  • VPBAGENT-41499: Some VIPRE Cloud Agents were not updating software versions after being approved
  • VPBAGENT-41323: "Access is Denied" dialog box was popping up while trying to print after VIPRE was uninstalled
  • VPBAGENT-41244: VIPRE Cloud Agent, with Intrusion Detection System (IDS) enabled, was giving intermittent SSL errors when browsing to some websites
  • VPBAGENT-41237: Malicious Content Blocking for HTTPS was preventing Two Factor Authentication page from loading
  • VPBAGENT-40389: VIPRE Cloud Agent was causing SBAMSvc.exe to crash repeatedly
  • VPBAGENT-40304: On 2019 File Server Virtual Machines, NDIS Lightweight Filter was crashing

Known Issues and Workarounds

This section lists issues that are known at the time of release. In some cases, these are bugs that we are working to resolve with a subsequent release. Other items may be due to causes outside our control, such as bugs with other vendors' software. In all cases, we have tried to provide a workaround for you to consider should you experience an issue.
