VIPRE Recommends
Keeping all software in your environment as up-to-date as possible is critical. New software releases often fix issues with older product versions that, unless addressed, could leave you vulnerable. As such, VIPRE recommends updating to the most recent version as soon as possible.
Check the current status of older product versions on the VIPRE Product Lifecycle Matrix to learn when support for specific product versions may end.
This release includes several bug fixes as well as multiple mechanisms that strengthen VIPRE including:
- Automatic definitions updates when VIPRE starts and no definitions are present
- Ability to defer scheduled definitions updates while scans are running
- Support for restarting VIPRE when needed to complete a definitions update
- Allowing updates to continue after VIPRE has restarted
- Reverting to the previous signatures when the new signatures can’t be loaded successfully during an update
- Disabling of scan-related functions if a bad definition is loaded
Fixed in this Release
- VIPREHOME-40751: VIPRE was intermittently crashing while performing scans
- VIPREHOME-40759: VIPRE was unable to restart after performing manual definitions updates
