To customize Scheduled Scans

  1. Click .
  2. Select a Scan from Schedule Scan by clicking on the edit pencil to the right of the scan.

The Edit dialog displays.

  1. Make sure Custom Scan is selected, then select any of the following options:
    • Running Programs: Select for the scan to include any program that is currently running. For example, if you have an Internet browser and an email program open, your scan will include these running programs. If unselected, will not scan running programs.
    • Windows registry: Select for the scan to include your system's registry.
    • For rootkits: Select to include rootkits (software tools intended to conceal running processes, files, or system data from the operating system).
    • Specify Where to scan: Click Choose Location(s) to perform a custom scan that includes a focus on specific drives or folders. See "To specify drives and folders to scan" below.
  2. Click OK to save your settings and close the .

To specify drives and folders to scan:

  1. Click Choose Location(s).
  2. Click + New Location.
  3. Click Select Folder.
