Managing
Scans for outdated software applications (such as Adobe Reader and Mozilla Firefox) installed on your computer. Out-of-date software applications pose a significant threat to network security. To prevent hackers or malicious software from exploiting these problems, software vendors often fix security issues with their software. VIPRE Auto Patch fetches those patches and applies them to your machine automatically.
This feature strengthens your security by applying the latest software patches before these missing patches are exploited by attackers or malicious software. Configure to either manually or automatically check for, download, and install missing patches.
Note: Sometimes it is necessary to restart your PC to have a software patch work.
Manually installing patches
To manually check for, and download patches:
- Click Manage, then Updates.
- Under Updates, click Check Now. starts to scan your computer.
Note: Scans can take several minutes to complete. You can continue working in or on your computer during this scan.
- When finishes the scan, it attempts to install the patches, unless Get your approval before applying new patches is checked. You may need to click Apply Patches.

Automatically installing patches
To automatically check for, and download patches:
- Click Manage, then Updates.
- Switch on Auto Patch Updates.
- If you uncheck Get your approval before applying patches, will automatically and quietly install your security patches for you.
