Product release information for SafeSend Cloud.

What's New

This release of SafeSend focuses on hardening the data loss prevention (DLP) engine, and tightening reporting accuracy.

Smarter, More Reliable Scanning

This release sharpens how SafeSend Cloud identifies and reports on sensitive content. We've improved how the DLP engine handles complex, real-world emails, including nested attachments and edge cases that could previously produce inaccurate results, so your team gets the right prompt at the right moment and your reports reflect what actually happened.

More Accurate Reporting and Audit Trails

Replies are now captured correctly, attachment-removal reporting no longer over-reports, and a new send-status email header gives administrators clearer visibility into how each message was handled. Together these changes mean the story your audit log tells matches the action your users took.

Configuration You Can Trust

We've tightened up administrative reliability, from case-insensitive matching of Exchange distribution list names to correct handling when a sender is changed mid-compose, and protection against duplicate admin-portal entries clearing your configured lists. There's also a new advanced option to ignore embedded images, so email signatures no longer trigger an unprotected-attachment warning.

Fixed in this Release

  • The "Treat matching Exchange distribution list names as external" setting is now case-insensitive, so lists match regardless of casing
  • Replaced the legacy x-header with "vipre-safesend-sendstatus" and now include the send status as its value for clearer downstream reporting
  • Emails sent as replies are now correctly reported
  • Duplicate entries in the admin portal no longer cause configured lists to be cleared
  • The system now properly handles cases where the sender is changed
  • Corrected a reporting issue where all attachments were incorrectly shown as removed
  • Improved handling of nested .msg, .eml, and .zip files. Added limits to DLP scanning for file size, nested depth, and timeout to protect performance and stability
  • Added an Advanced "Ignore embedded images" option so email signatures no longer trigger the unprotected-attachments warning
  • Fixed an issue where DLP incorrectly flagged CHI Number matches on an empty body in Outlook Classic

Special Instructions

Ready to get started? Here are a few key steps to make the most of this release:

  1. Review the new "Ignore embedded images" advanced option if signatures have been triggering unprotected-attachment warnings
  2. After upgrading, confirm your reporting looks as expected, as reply capture and attachment-removal reporting have both changed in this release
