Product release information for VIPRE Security for Business version 1.0.12.
What's New
In this release, we are proud to announce the launch of our brand-new VIPRE Cloud Agent for Android™ and Chromebooks, bringing robust enterprise protection to an entirely new platform.
These updates are designed to bridge the gap between traditional workstations and mobile endpoints, ensuring your fleet remains secure, compliant, and visible, without impacting the end-user experience.
Key Feature Highlights
-
Policy-based Threat Scanning & Scheduling: This agent grants administrators comprehensive visibility into the health of their Android fleet
- Trigger on-demand scans to identify and remediate malware the moment a threat is suspected.
- Set recurring scan intervals that run in the background to ensure continuous protection while minimizing performance degradation for your users
-
Perimeter-Less Network Protection: Our enhanced Network Protection secures the device perimeter regardless of how the user connects
- Automatically block access to known malicious domains and command-and-control (C2) servers
- Real-time protection against malicious links designed to harvest credentials, providing a critical safety net against social engineering
-
Web Access Control & Policy Parity: We’ve introduced Web Access Control to ensure that your corporate acceptable use policies are enforced directly on mobile devices.
- Easily block or allow entire types of content (e.g., social media, gambling, or high-bandwidth sites)
- Administrators can now mirror the web usage standards enforced on traditional workstations, creating a seamless and predictable environment for the entire organization
Important
- Web Filtering is designed primarily to block access to specific URLs and website categories (e.g., social media sites via web browsers). While this may occasionally restrict traffic within associated desktop or mobile applications due to underlying API calls, this feature does not guarantee full application-level blocking.
- The Quarantine and Web Filtering capabilities utilize a local VPN tunnel to process traffic. Consequently, this solution is incompatible with third-party VPN clients. Running another VPN simultaneously will conflict with these features, though standard system scanning and other core protection modules will continue to function normally.
