Through its notification system, VIPRE Cloud can send email updates for real-time threat alerts, as well as scheduled summary emails of health or threat information. Notification emails from VIPRE Cloud are broken up into two categories: alerts and digests.

Alerts

Alerts are triggered when VIPRE discovers a threat and are useful for immediate event notification. You can adjust alert sensitivity based on how you set the source of the alert, the severity level, and the scope. When an alert is triggered, the notification email is sent immediately to all recipients listed in the notification settings.

Refer to Related Articles for details on setting up immediate alerting of threats found.

You could set notification alerts to trigger for:

  • Any Active Protection (AP) threat event that occurs, regardless of the severity
  • Email threat events, but only if they have a severity of High or above
  • Threats detected from the AMSI or Exploit Detection Engines

Digests

Digests are scheduled curated summaries of site health or site threats. You can set the digest frequency on a custom daily or weekly schedule, depending on when you prefer to receive each digest. You can also specify if you want the scope of the digest to cover the entire site or only specific policies. When a digest is sent, the email is sent simultaneously to all recipients listed in the notification settings.

You could set up digests for:

  • A weekday threat summary for only your Windows Servers
  • A Monday morning weekly health summary for your entire site
