We understand that as a Managed Service Provider, you need to know exactly what resources your clients are using so that you can recover your costs. VIPRE Site Manager makes this easy with detailed usage reporting and metrics.
The Billing and Usage data in VIPRE Site Manager provides transparency into the product use-to-cost ratio.
- See how much your tenant sites are using the product and gain insight into your billing costs with VIPRE
- Use this data on a per-customer basis to generate or adjust charges for your customers
- Provide a read-only login to your tenant sites, so that they may view their own product usage any time they wish
Billing video
The following video gives a quick overview of how to view your usage, learn how usage is measured, review your billed sites, and gives a peek at a sample CSV report that you can have emailed to you.
How usage is calculated
VIPRE Site Manager is a utility-billed product. We bill based on the number of endpoint devices that VIPRE is deployed to, across all your sites.
We charge based on the ‘high-water mark’. This is
- the number of unique devices
- currently active across all your tenant sites
- on the busiest day of the billing period
So, if you have more sites in use during the next month, your monthly bill will increase for that month. If you use less sites during the next month, your monthly bill will decrease.
Note: While tenant site trial usage is shown in the product for your reference, you are not billed for any site trial creation or use.
Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Billed For | |
---|---|---|---|---|
123 Computers | 10 devices | 10 devices | 15 devices | 15 devices |
ACME Industries | 2 devices | 5 devices | 3 devices | 5 devices |
Brand X Technology | 50 devices | 2 devices | 25 devices | 50 devices |
Viewing site activity
Since billing is based on tenant site usage, it’s important to understand the data shown on the Sites page.
Viewing usage levels
While the Sites screen shows tenant site usage with a focus on devices and threats, the Usage screen provides a bigger, billing-oriented look at active devices for customer sites over time.
Set up automated usage reports
If you want even more detail, you can enable automated HTML or CSV usage reports using scheduled Notifications. Notifications are automated reports emailed to you on a schedule of your choosing.

As an example, you can load a CSV file into a spreadsheet to view daily information about your tenant devices. The metrics include the highest, lowest, and average number of devices per site. Use this as input to your client billing process. The statistics also provide a baseline or ‘sanity check’ for the level of service you are providing.
